echoday asked: The answer field for your fruit question was too short! I wanted to add that you could try growing some of your own fruit, too. Strawberries, tomatoes, and peppers are all easily grown in most areas (great for hanging on porches etc. if space is limited). I know apples last a long time, along with oranges, grapefruit, etc. The fruit with the tougher skin is more hardy. I usually don't buy fruit more than once per week, but I also eat somewhat brownish grapes... :p However, I think two trips is plenty per week as long as you're planning ahead. One thing I've learned about veganism is that preparation is key. Shopping lists are your best friend nutritionally and financially. Good luck! ps - I write a blog called Green Light Vegan (http://www.greenlightvegan.wordpress.com) May I use your question as the basis for a new post? I can link to your Tumblr if you'd like. Happy Fruit-ing!
I would love to grow my own fruits and veggies, but as I live with my boyfriend and his parents its not my decision, nor do I really have time for it. I am also super irresponsible so daily care for something other than myself, my boyfriend, and my animals is pushing it, haha. Thanks for the advice though! I think twice a week would really be ideal, I guess I got a little ahead of myself when I was thinking daily.
Also, that’s fine! I’ll have to check that out. =)
