I have sent emails to the editors (editors@tumblr.com) requesting that a “vegan/vegetarian/animal rights” category be added in the directory. Not only has my request been unfulfilled, it apparently didn’t even warrant a response. So I have decided to go another route. I have made this collage in hopes that through reblog upon reblog, our request may be granted. I chose the word “vegan” because it is possibly the strictest vegetarian diet, and to me, it inherently contains the notion of animal rights. This does not mean however that the category would be limited only to those that lead a vegan lifestyle. I see it as a category for anyone who takes a stake in the presupposition that all forms of life on this earth have value, and that they should be treated with respect and dignity. So I ask all of you, even those of you that are omnivorous…especially those of you that are omnivorous, please reblog this in hopes that our cause can be identified as something that matters in the Tumblr community, because it damn sure matters to me.
